Bulcock Beach and adjoining Deepwater Point form the highly variable northern bank of the large mouth of Pumicestone Channel, a 30 km long tidal channel that did run the length of Bribie Island to connect with Moreton Bay. Consequently, the channel has closed over due to sand movement creating a bay like area at Bulcock beach.
