Peregian Beach (1539D) is 8 km south of Sunshine and parallels the beach for 4 km, down to the small Stumer Creek mouth. The Peregian Surf Life Saving Club is located in a large beachfront reserve opposite the main shopping area. The beach has good parking, access and facilities. The club was established in 1962 when the area was first developed, and patrols a potentially hazardous rip dominated double-bar surf zone.
